History

The Tertsakian family have been dealing in fur and exotic hair on hides and sheepskins since the company was founded by Stepan Tertsakian in Leipzig in 1923 and have built a worldwide reputation for quality, taste and integrity.

We continue to trade today with many of the original tanneries, artisans and brokers throughout Europe that Stepan Tertsakian and his son Armen have built lasting relationships with. And it is from these valued sources that we continue to seek out the best materials available for our clients in Interior Design and decoration, Fashion Design and Editorial styling and Props and Costume for Film and Theatre.

The company is now owned by Adam Bray,  a former antique dealer based in London who consults on Interior Design projects.

We are very pleased to continue to consult with John Sladen , former director of Stepan Tertsakian Ltd who has over 40 years experience of the industry. And we welcome clients old and new to contact us to discuss their projects and requirements.

What we do

Tertsakian Ltd trade in outstanding quality Scandinavian and rare breed British sheepskins.  Mongolian and Tibet Lambskins, Goatskins, Bearskins and the best available quality European cow and pony skins. As well as Zebra skins, Reindeer , Rabbit and Furs for blankets, throws and furnishing. We also supply the finest quality leathers; organic saddle hides, buffalo and upholstery hides.

We try to always hold a small stock of our bestselling sheepskins, hair on hides and leathers but most of our materials are only available to order with a short delivery time. We hold stock samples of everything at the studio. It is always advisable to call before specifying something in order to check stock and delivery times.

As well as our regular stock of hair on hides we also source and supply vintage zebra and other vintage exotic skins and related items.
We have a wide range of stock leathers in beautiful colours available to order, selected on the basis of their suitability for Interior design and furnishing. Most of these leathers can be made to your colours and specified finishes.

We produce upholstery and architectural leather work, handrails and paneling and  have designed and manufactured banquette seating and other items of leather upholstered furniture for a variety of commercial and residential projects. We also produce parchment veneered furniture and walling as well as large floor pieces made from goatskin, rabbit or cow hide.
